A selection of the beautiful wreaths made over the past few years by people who have attended the Christmas workshops. The willow is worked with our hands, gradually warmed & gently woven to form a circlet.
Several whips of willow are skilfully woven together to form a sturdy wreath.
There is always plenty of help on hand. Most of the time the willow-whips can be formed very easily but occasionally one or two can be a bit tough.
It’s a good work-out for the forearms! And an ideal opportunity to spend festive time with friends. We often have mothers & daughters who come as a group to share the moment & chill with a coffee & a mince pie….or two.
The garlands are made from foraged hedgerow foliage & semi-dried flower & seed heads from my gardens. This year I’ve selected some very special ribbons-I think I may have over done the order.
Everyone gets to create their own handmade Christmas willow door wreath to take home with sufficient ribbon & care instructions to take you through to the new year.
